midday(ish) reset: 1.24.24
weekly recommendations of random things and cures for life's little foibles
A little late, but better than never! Another midday, midweek pick-me-up for the slumps. For times when…
You source or sell vintage furniture and like to champion businesses that focus on sustainability.
If you take nothing else from this week's list - I hope this one sticks. UK-based Vinterior is a sustainability-focused, pre-owned furniture marketplace with over 2,000 sellers from 30 countries and over 5000,000 monthly visitors to their website - and they are here to revolutionize the furniture industry.
On a mission to combat overconsumption and waste, Vinterior applies a circularity-thinking strategy to its business and carbon-offsetting practices to disrupt and remake the broken furniture industry - and it is truly making a difference! They are well on their way to creating the standard for the future.
Follow their incredible Instagram for inspo, peep at their sellers's program if you have vintage pieces to offload, and check out their sustainability model to learn more!
You just cannot with your hair today and need a quick fix.

Try these French Hair Pins by Machete. My favorites are the Pistachio and the Cognac - and there are many fun colors and patterns to choose from! The pins are hand-sculpted in Fine Italian Acetate and made to hold your hair effectively with no creases. Simple to use and perfect for days to do not have time to f*ck around with your hair.
You promised yourself to be more active this year, but it has been a struggle.
Have you heard of cozy cardio? The practice offers a flexible and decidedly anti-workout approach that might help usher you into a new era of routine movement - especially for those of us who are less naturally inclined and struggle to find the FUN in fitness. So if the current temps or lack of motivation is blocking your progress, it might be time to give cozy cardio a whirl. It is a whole mood.
You want a fun, eco-friendly, everyday dinner napkin.

Check out these playful napkins from Geometry. Made from post-consumer recycled materials and woven into their proprietary Geosuede™ fabric - these reusable napkins are durable AF! Two of my favorites are Mist Blue Oasis and Candy Stripe.
You have been undone by a broken zipper and need a solution.
To be a more thoughtful consumer, I have begun tucking away tips for fixing and mending. Also, there is just something satisfying about doing it on your own; it gives a decent self-sufficiency buzz! Recently, a beloved winter coat zipper kept separating from itself, and I was loathe to let it go. Thankfully, I bookmarked this helpful guide to zipper fixes.
You are ready to FINALLY find your signature scent.

If you are looking for your signature scent or need an update - take a peek at PHLUR and HERETIC PARFUM. Both offer discovery kits so you can have the opportunity to explore each fragrance and its unique scent profiles. I recently received MISSING PERSON as a sample and obliterated it within two weeks. It was so good. Aptly described on their product page as pure, provocative, and undeniably familiar. A second favorite of mine from this line is SOMEBODY WOOD.
I have yet to try CACTUS ABDUCTION. (Its scent sounds so delicious I am willing to gamble.) As a limited-edition fragrance, it sold out before I could get my hands on it in its first go-around. Luckily, it has made an encore. So, if a night-blooming cactus flower with a succulent scent of crisp citrus, juicy prickly pear, verdant geranium, smoky vetiver, and benzoin fragrance piques your interest - I would snag a bottle before it is gone for good. I know I am.
You really need to lighten up during these grey and dreary days.
It may be a long way off from April showers, but why not introduce a grouping of these darling handmade ceramic Droplet Pendants from Entler Studio to brighten your space until then?
Adjustable, plug-in ready (no installation professional required) making it easy-peasy to pack up and take to any new space in the future.
You are dying to inject some color into your shower time.

These fun and space-saving showerhead sets, designed by Sproos, are perfect for renters, oddly configured showers, or anyone who appreciates a bold splash of color and innovative design.
You have a selection between three configurations and four colors. The available options allow you the flexibility to consider the functionality (and form) that will work best for you.
You want sacred space vibes to permeate your home.
Want to create an environment of ease for the mind and spirit? Hinoki (AKA Japanese Cypress) is a sacred wood in Japanese culture. Its scent is lauded to bring a sense of calm. Could we not all benefit from more calm as we navigate this wildly paced world?
Handmade and sustainably produced, this Hinoki Forest Incense set includes eight incense sticks and an aluminum burner that fits atop the Hinoki block container. Compact and scent-full it’s the perfect purchase for those looking for a little serenity and appreciate thoughtful, space-saving design.
(2-pack refills are available.)
You need a stylish prompt to get your ass into the kitchen.

As someone who has a hard time wanting to visit my kitchen for more than a 10-minute bout - a fun new apron is sometimes the best medicine. As I recommitted to my cooking efforts in 2024, I have two I am debating between. It could be this cute utilitarian smock apron from Sur laTable or this far-from-practical intergalactic affair from Gohar’s World.

Oh I’m so here for your content! Dinner napkins?!?!?…an under appreciated necessity, says me! I love so many of these designs from Geometry but the napkins are too big! I’m not a restaurant and why do I need such big ones! Pet peeve… I wish it was easier to find small cloth dinner napkins - too much laundry otherwise. I have some from Crate and Barrel I bought years ago - nice and small, cloth cocktail napkins I guess, but much more practical than restaurant size ones…bc I like to use them for home use not just for guests. If you know of small cloth napkins…LET ME KNOW TOO!
